Valentines Day Project

Valentine's Day is friendship day in Elementary School.  I have assigned a project to all students to help them with the concept of friendship.  We have had huge problems with handling friendship in the classroom.  That leads this as the perfect project for the students to reflect on how to treat others with respect and be friends.  Below are the requirements for the project in case you lost them.

Happy Holidays from my family to yours!

The holidays are approaching and we are all so busy, you would be amazed what our children think of the hussle and bussle of the holiday.  Please take a moment out of your busy day and remind your child what the holidays mean to you!  We learn from example... you are your child's greatest educator.

Mother decided that 10-year-old Cathy shoud get something "practical" for Christmas. "Suppose we open a savings account for you?" mother suggested. Cathy was delighted. "It's your account, darling," mother said as they arrived at the bank, "so you fill out the application." Cathy was doing fine until she came to the space for "Name of your former bank." After a slight hesitation, she put down "Piggy."

Junior Achievement

Many of you wonder.... What is Junior Achievement?  Well Mr. Davenport came to Mrs. DeMeester's classroom the last week and has enriched all of the students on our community... How does it work?  What do you have to have to make a community run?  What do the people do in our community?  We had a lot of fun and learned a lot!!!!  Thanks Mr. Davenport!!!

I-Care Rules

We are having trouble following the rules of school.... soooo we have implemented five rules... the I-Care rules

1. We listen to eachother with our ears not our mouth.

2. Hands are for Helping, not for HURTING!

3. We use I-Care Language

4. We care about eachothers feelings.

5. We are responsible for what we say and do.

The students are doing a great job with these rules...they are easy and pertain to each child.

Parents please feel free to leave me a comment on the rules that we are using at school!
