The week of July 23 - 27th was spent re-discovering the fifth grade science objectives in a most delightful way. In the company of 30 other Cobb County fifth grade teachers I received outstanding ideas for the teaching of classification, cells and microorganisms.
Receiving free gifts made us feel like we were on Oprah. The microscope with a video camera will be enjoyed by all students. Seeing everything that is in the water we drink can be a bit scary.
A male beta fish in a glass jar with a plant was another gift. One of our first tasks will be to "Name that Fish". He is a happy fish with a great appetite.
